A school has 120, 192 and 144students enrolled for its science, arts and commerce courses. All
students have to be seated in rooms for an exam such that each room has students of only the
same course and also all rooms have equal number of students. What is the least number of rooms
needed?
Read Solution (Total 5)
-
- as all the numbers are multiple of 12 therefore the number of students in each room should also be in multiple of 12 only.
either 12 ,24,36 etc
120/24=5
192/24=8
144/24=6
5+8+6=19

- h.c.f of 120,192,144=24
120/24=5
192/24=8
144/24=6
least no.=5+8+6=19 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(27) No(0)
- its 19
divide the number by 24
then we get equal no of student - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(1)
- answer is 5+8+6=19.
becoz HCF of 120,192&144 is 24
each room have 24 student of same course
then rooms needed 120/24+192/24+144/24= 19. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- we have to find highest no which is divisible by all 3 as we have to devide the students in equal parts n in minimum part
highest no dividing all is 24
so no of rooms = 120/24 +192/24 +144/24 =19 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
