- if talking about 2D(arrangement on a table).
total no of coins=7: 1 in centre and 6 surrounding it.
Mathematical reason: due to equal radius every two adjacent surrounding coins and centeral coin will form an equilateral triangle between the 3 centers due to equal radius. Thus 60deg angle btwn two coins surrounding central coin.
so total surrounding coins =360/60=6. and 1 coin in the center.
