The age of ram and sam are in the ratio 5:6 and after 4 years their ratios are 7:8 then what is the present age of sam?

  5x+4 = 7

  6x+4 = 8
  cross multiply.u will get x=2
  sam present age is 12yrs i.e(6x =6*2=12)

• assume ram's age-x,sam-y.... now x=5/6y..... and after 4 years-====> x+4/y+4=7/8...8(x+4)=7(y+4)====>8(5y/6+4)=7(y+4)....on solving we get y=12... so sam age=12
