The age of ram and sam are in the ratio 5 6 and after 4 years their ratios are 7

The present age of ram and sam is 5:6 i.e 5x for ram and 6x for sam.
5x/6x.
after 4 yrs the ratio is 7:8
5x+4 = 7
--------
6x+4 = 8
cross multiply.u will get x=2
sam present age is 12yrs i.e(6x =6*2=12)

assume ram's age-x,sam-y.... now x=5/6y..... and after 4 years-====> x+4/y+4=7/8...8(x+4)=7(y+4)====>8(5y/6+4)=7(y+4)....on solving we get y=12... so sam age=12
