Time Distance and Speed
A is moving towards Bombay from Delhi and B is moving towards Delhi from Bombay . Speed of A is 50 km/hr and B 60 km/hr. When A and B meets B travel 120 KM more than A . find the time after they meet.

- let distance of A is xkm then B is x+120km
s=d/t => s1/d1=s2/d2 => 50/x = 60/(x+120)
5x+600=6x =>x=600km
time taken t=d/s => t=600/50=12hours. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(23) No(1)
- simply by relative velocity concept
time=distnc/reltv velocty
=120/10
=12hours - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(19) No(5)
- let x be the distance travelld by A.
time taken by A = time taken by B
50/x=60/(120+x)
on solving we get x=600 km.
hence we can find out the time by (600 km)/(50 km/hr) or (720 km)/(60 km/hr)
hence ans will be 12 hr - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(0)
- 12hrs
first 2hrs A moves 100 B moves 120
when it comes 12th hr distance become600 and 720. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
- ans is 12 hrs.
Assume distance covered by A is x
Then distance covered by B is x+120.
By using s=d/t(t const).
s1/s2=d1/d2.(speeds given).
We get the value of x=600.
By using this we can cal time=d/s=600/50=12hrs.

- ans- 12hr
A/Q let A travels x km.
so B travels x+120
so (x/50)=(x+120)/60
=> x=600
so time=600/50=12 hr - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- the distance traveled by B = 50x+120 = 60x (x hours)
which gives x=12 hours - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- After 12 hours
