now,according to me,this is going to be the solution..
firstly no. of matches..-8c2 =28,since twice matches being played,so 56 leaugue matches being played
now,for victory - 2pts ,no tie, for loss 0 pts..=> total 112 pts in the leaugue
now 4 teams reaches to semi,,thereby maximize 3 .which means they have won all matches against the lower 5 ,giving them 60 pts and also those 3 upper played against each other ,giving them 12 pts =>60+ 12 =72 pts
now out of 112 pts ,72 beig distributed,now we have 40 pts left,distribute them in 5 teams,we got each teams having 8 pts,mean min 4 matches can took a team into semi..

there are total 56 matches, if a team has 14 wins and it not reached semi finals means there are 4 other teams whose wins are more than 14, so total number of wins(>4*14+14), which is not possible in just 56 matches

out of 5 one team should be out..
so match distribution like 12 ,11,11,11,11 = 56
there is a conflict between 4 team which one to go ...
so minimum no of match is = 12
