in a bag, there are 150 coins of re 1,50 p and 25p denominations.if the total value of coins is rs.150,then find how many rupees can be constituted by 50p coins.
Read Solution (Total 5)
-
- Ans: 50
According to problem, Total coins are 150.
Let the total number of 50p coins are x.
then total number Rs. 1/- and 25p coins are 150-x.
Then (x)(0.5) + (150-X)(1+0.25) = Rs. 150

- Let x, y and z be the number of Re. 1, 50p and 25p in the bag.
As per the given condition,
x+y+z = 150
And,
x+0.5y+0.25z = 150
Implies, x+y+z = x+0.5y+0.25z
Implies, y+z = 0.5y+0.25z
Implies, 0.5y+0.75z = 0.
Implies y and z = 0 each.
Hence, x = 150 - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
