- probably he wants to say that a beats b by 10 m, assuming that , let time taken by a to complete the race be x sec so speed of a = 100/x m/s
speed of b= 90/x m/s , speed of c=81/x m/s
now in 180 m race b will complete the race in 180x/90 = 2x sec
and in 2x sec c an reach (81*2x)/x = 162 m
so b can beat c by 18 m . i.e e) none of these could b the answer - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(12) No(0)
- In the given Question A beats B by 10m.
Therefore A run 100m Then B run 90m
Ratio of A and B Speed is 100:90
Similarly Ratio of the Speed of A and C is 100:81
Therefore Ratio of speed of B and C is 90/100 * 100/81 = 10:9
when B run 180m then C run = ( 9/10 ) * 180 = 162m
Therefore B beat C by 180 - 162 = 18m
So Answer is None of this. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
