if the no.s m,n is divided by 6 then 2 and 3 are the remainders respectively. and m>n,then what will b the remainder when m-n is divided by 6?
Read Solution (Total 11)
-
- Ans is 5
m=6a+2==>m=6a-6+6+2==>m=6(a-1)+8
n=6b+3
m-n=6(a-1)+8-(6b+3)==>6(a-1-b)+5
So,the remainder when m-n is divided by 6 is 5 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(48) No(5)
- Ans is 5.
m=6a+2
n=6b+3
put any value for 'a' and 'b'(a>b)
and find the value of 'm' and 'n' respectively.Then sub. 'n' into 'm' and then divide the result by 6 then You get the remainder as 5.
EXAMPLE:-
put a=4,b=2 then m=26,n=15,m-n=11,(m-n)/6=5(as a remainder).

- let two no.s 20 and 15,divide it by 6,it will give a remainder 2,3 respetvly,it also fulfil m>n,now u hv m=20 and n=15,so m-n=5, nw even when u will divide this by 6,the remainder will be 5. it may also be the 1 way 2 solve this.as i had solvd in actual xam.

- -1 m-n=6a-6b-1;m-n/6=(a-b)-1/6 dvdnd=quotient+remainder/dvsor so remainder=-1

- take m=8 and n=3
m-n=5,
remainder of m-n is 5. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(2)
- ans : 5
take 38 & 33 as dummy values to solve
