13. A merchant buys 20 kg of wheat of Rs.30 per kg and40 kg wheat at Rs.25 per kg. He mixed them and sells one third of the mixture at Rs.26 per kg. The price at which the merchant should sell the remaining mixture, So that he may earn a profit of 25 % in his whole outlay is
a) Rs.30
b) Rs.36
c) Rs.40
d) Rs.37
Read Solution (Total 7)
-
- Cost price of all the wheat=(20*30)+(40*25)=1600
if he makes 25% profit then total selling price=1600*5/4=2000
total mixture of wheat is 60kg. one third of which is 20kg.
now selling price of 20kg of wheat=20*26=520
so 40kg of wheat =(2000-520)/40=37 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(44) No(1)
- total cp = 20 * 30 + 40*25= 1600
sp = 125/100 * 1600= 2000
sp for 20kg mix = 26*20 =520
rem sp = 2000-520 = 1480
as this sp is for 40 kg = 1480 / 40 = Rs37 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(10) No(1)
- total c.p=20*30+40*25=1600
gain required is 1600*25/100=400
s.p=2000
and total wight is 60kg and one third means 20kg has been sold at 26
so 26*20=520
2000-520=1480;
and remaining wheat is 40 kg
so,1480/40=37rs per kg remainig must be sold - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- rs 37. per kg because cp= 600 + 1000 and sp= 20*26 + 40*x
So the profit% sould be 25. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(5)
