How many isosceles triangles exist whose sides a, b and c are natural numbers less than 8?
Read Solution (Total 1)
-
- if a=b(equal sides of isosceles triangle)
then c can have maximum value of 2*a-1.
equal sides 1 -- no of triangles 1 ie base 1
equal sides 2 -- no of triangles 3 ie base 1,2,3
equal sides 3 -- no of triangles 5 ie base 1,2,3,4,5....
similarly equal sides 7 -- no of triangles 13 ie base 1 to 13..
so summing up all such triangles ... 7/2*(2*1+(7-1)*2)=7*7=49 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
