The perimeter of the triangular base of a right prism is 60 cm and the sides of the base are in the ratio 5 : 12 : 13. Then its volume will be (height of the prism being 50 cm)

So, 5x + 12x + 13x =60
or, x = 2
Hence the side of the base are 10cm, 24cm, 26cm
Now the area of the base = root[s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)] where s=(a+b+c)/2
=root[30(30-10)(30-24)(30-26) = root[30 * 20 * 6 * 4]
=root[10 * 3 * 2 *10 *3 * 2 *2 *2 ]
=10 * 3 *2 * 2 = 120 sq cm
