- According to me, The steps for solving Cryptarthimetic in Elitmus are
(1) Get the hints from the addition, you can track zeroes, nines and fives of addition and also you can track whether there is a carry or not.
If you cannot track any of them, do not look for any others in Addition
(2) Them the rules of Multiplication
In multiplication, track for 1 and 0 first, rarely u get 1 in ELitmus
(3)Then the logic of last digit,
Some general logics that one has to understand are
5 multiplied by any number ends with 5 or 0
3,7, 9 multiplied by any number never ends in 3,7 and 9 respectively
2,4,8 ends with 2, 4 and 8 respectively, only when they are multiplied by 6.
A P R
O C T
--------
P U R A
R O J R
R E C U
-----------
R A A J A A
-------------
From addition logic, U + J + U = J, so U must be 0 0r 5.
But U cannot be 5, because to get 5, one of the numbers should be 5. Product of O and R is resulting in the last digit of U.Now as U cannot be 5, it should be 0.
The only way to get the last digit as 0 is 5 * even number.
One of R and O has to be 5.
R cannot be 5, beacause in 5 table there can be only two endings, 5 and 0. In case of R, we are getting the endings as A(first line), R(second line), U( third line)
S0, R cannot be 5, O must be 5.
Now the six logic, R multiplied by C is ending with R, this can happen by only 6. So, C should be 6.
As, O is 5 and C is 6, from last line we can say R = 2.
Now as R = 2, both the second line and last line are starting with 2, A should be 4.
As A = 4, T = 7
This is the approach for Cryptaritmetic

- @payas
in the history of elitmus i think this question was the easiest one..i went through the normal technique and it was solved very easily..
but earlier elitmus cryptarithmetic questions were tough for me..
i want to know how those hard one was being solved by you..please send me the method..
