Q. When manufacturing bars of soap, the cutting machine produces scraps. The scraps from 11 bars of soap can be made into one extra bar. What is the total number of bars that can be made after cutting 250 bars of soap?

First we get 250 scraps and made 22 soap bars and 8 scraps are left.

From scrap of 11 bars one extra bar will be made.21 bars will give 2 more bars and 1 scraps.
250= 21*11 = 19
21*11 bars will give 22 extra bars and 11 scraps These 11 scraps will further make 1 bar and one scrap.
Thus 231 bars have given 23 extra bars and 1 scrap. Now remaining 19 bars will give 19 scraps, which will give 19 scraps, which will make 1 bar and 9 scraps.
So extra bars made = 23 + 1= 24
10(1+9) scraps are also there.
So total number of bars that can be made after cutting 250 bars of soap are = 250+24=274.
There are also 10 scraps spare.
