(61-a)(61-b)(61-c)(61-d)(61-e)=495
a,b,c,d,e are in ascending order
find a+b+c+d
Read Solution (Total 8)
-
- factor 495=11*5*3*3*1
61-11=50
61-5=56
61-3=58
61-3=58
61-1=60
so a+b+c+d=50+56+58+58=222 ans.

- Sorry that was mistakn
@shilpi agarwal
495= 3 * 3 * 5 * 11
Now as in question it is expressed in multiple of five terms we have do that only.
Also as a,b,c,d,e are in ascending order that means all are different.
So we can't take both 3 as it is.
So 495 = 3 * -3 * 5 * 11 * -1
Comparing with the question a,b,c,d,e= 64,60,58,56,50
Sum= 282 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(3)

495= 3 * 3 * 5 * 11
Now as in question it is expressed in multiple of five terms we have do that only.
Also as a,b,c,d,e are in ascending order that means all are different.
So we can't take both 3 as it is.
So 495 = 5 * 9 * 11
We want 5 terms so 495=5 * 9 * 11 * 1 * -1
Comparing with the question a,b,c,d,e= 62,60,56,52,50
Sum= 280 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(4)
- a=50
b=56
c=58
d=62
e=64
we get 11*5*3*(-1)*(-3)=495
a+b+c+d=226

- a=50 b=56 c=58 d=62 e=64 so we get 11*5*3*(-1)*(-3)=495... bingo..
