• let 3 grandsons be g1, g2 & g3 resp'y
  given that g1+g2+g3 = y
  g2-g3 = x -------1)
  g1 = 2g2
  2g2+g2+g3 =y ; so 3g2+g3 = y ----- 2)
  solving eq. 1 and 2
  we get g2 = (x+y)/4
  and g1= 2g2
  so g1 = (x+y)/2 is the ans.

  so,a-b=x;
  b-c=x
  now,a=2b as 1st grandson is twice elder than younger
  2b-b-=x
  b=x;
  therefore,a=2x(ans)
