if a and b are mixed in 3:5 ration and b,c are mixed in 8:5 ration if the final mixture is 35 litres,find the amount
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- a/b = 3/5 and b/c = 8/5
b is common in both ratios so taking L.C.M of both values of 'b' i.e take L.C.M Of 5 and 8 which is 40.
now if 'b' is 40 in ratio a/b =3/5 then a is 24
similarly if 'b' is 40 in ratio b/c = 8/5 then c is 25
now a:b:c are in ratio 24:40:25
and it is given that final mix is 335 lt.
so 24k+40k+25k = 35 which gives k =0.39
now a= 24k = 9.43 lit
b = 40k = 15.6 lit is ans - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(12) No(1)
- if a and b are mixed in 3:5 ratio and b,c are mixed in 8:5 ratio if the final
mixture is 35 litres, find the amount of b in the final mixture
:
Let b = amt of b in each mixture
:
Put a & c in terms of b
:
=
5a = 3b
a = (3/5) b
a = .6b
:
=
8c = 5b
c =(5/8) b
c =.625b
:
Add together
a + b + b + c = 35
.6b + 2b + .625b = 35
3.225b = 35
b =35/3.225
b = 10.85 litres in the final mixture
