Q. A man buy a liquid by 12 lts and the mixture is of 20% liquid in water then he makes it in 30% mixture then what is the % of liquid with water.

• Original mixture = 12 lit... 20% liq in this mixture... So original mixture contains 2.4 lit liquid and 9.6 lit water... Now we are adding 10 lit of solution to this mixture... This 10 lit of solution contains 30% liquid, which is 3 lit, remaining 7 lit water...
  Total volume of new mixture = 22 lit...
  Total amount of water = 7 + 9.6 = 16.6 lit...
  Total amount of liquid = 2.4 + 3 = 5.4 lit...
  % of liquid with water = (5.4*100)/16.6 = 32.53 (Answer)

• If it means he added 30% mixture again. Then the answer is 18.46 % liquid in water. Here 20 % of 12% ltr mixture means 2.4 ltr. Then he added 30% mixture.It includes .72 of liquid.So it is 3.12 ltr liquid included in 15.6 ltr mixture. So nw it is 18.46 %.

• liquid = 12 litre
  and the mixture contains 20 % liquid, let the amount of mixture = x litre
  so total liquid = 12+0.2x and water = 0.8x
  on mixing liquid % = (12+0.2x)*100/(12+x) = 30 given
  so 1200+20x = 360+30x
  or 840 = 10x
  or x = 84 1
  so % of liquid with water = 84*100/84+12 = 8400/96 = 700/8 = 87.5 %
