NY public library is one of the worlds greatest repositories of books and journals. It has a beautiful reading room facing Manhattans famous 5th Avenue. In the reading room are 10 reading spots. Each reading spot consists of a round table with 4 chairs placed around it. There are some readers such that in each occupied reading spot, there are different numbers of readers. If in all there are10 readers, how many spots are empty?

• There are 10 reading spots, and each spot has different no.of readers occupies the chairs, so assume that 1 person at first reading spot, 2 persons at second reading spot, 3 persons at 3rd reading spot, 4 persons at fourth reading spot.There is no possibility of 5 persons at a reading spot. so only 4 reading spots have readers. Therefore 10-4=6 spots are empty.
