14. A person starts writing all 4 digits numbers. How many times had he written the digit 2??

• I think the answer is 3700 times.
  in units place we get 9(10)(10) = 900 times
  in tens place we get 9(10)(10) = 900 times
  in hundreds place also we get 9(10)(10) = 900 times
  in thousands place we get 10(10)(10) = 1000 times
  so total 3700 times... am i right?

  when the person not use 2 then all digits=8*9*9*9=5832
  so when that person use 2 then=9000-5832=3168
