• i think the options are incorrect because it is written that a boy work double than a man means if there were 8 boys they can dig the pit in 10 days ,now there are 9 boys and 4 men also,means it would take even less than 10..which is not in the option.
  I solved it and the ans is 7.27 days.
  8 men do work in 1 day=1/20 work
  1 men in 1 day=1/160 work
  1 boy in 1 day=1/80 work
  therefore 4 men and 9 boys in 1 day=4/160+9/80 work=22/160
  therefore work will be completed in 160/22 days=7.27 days
