On Monday, he counts 189 roses in the garden. He plucks the roses as per his plan on consecutive days and the new roses bloom as per intelligence of the plants mentioned above.   - indicates that no of roses decrease by that no.
  initially no of roses=189
  after 1 day roses= 189+30=219
  on second day=219+30=249... we stop here as the option matches

• The possibilities can be that 30 roses increase per day or, 15 or 5 roses decrease per day (by subtracting the no.of roses plucked & number of roses grown per day). So, the unit place number can be 0 or 5 different from the unit place of initial no. of roses i.e., it can be 9 or 4. Thus, the only answer matching is (b) 249.
