In school there are some bicycles and 4wheeler wagons.one Tuesday there are 190 wheels in the campus. How many bicycles are there?
Read Solution (Total 14)

- Answer is calculate using the options given in the answer..
for example total wheels are 182 and options are a.20 b.19 c.18 d.16
so we can possibility using the given values.
a.---> 20*2=40--->182-40--->142--> for 4 wagons 142/4 is not possible so a is not true.
b.--->19*2=38--->182-38--->144--> for 4 wagons 144/4=36 is possible so b is true.
c.---->18*2=36--->182-36--->146--> for 4 wagons 146/4 is not possible so c is not true.
d.---->16*2=32--->182-32--->150--> for 4 wagons 150/4 is not possible so d is not true. - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(116) No(3)
- Ans is :19
@MARIA SHANA
OPTIONS ARE 20,19,18,16
190 wheels in the campus
some bicycles and 4wheeler wagons
20 bicycles =20*2=40=190-40=150/4 is not possible
19 bicycles=19*2=38=190-38=152/4 is possible
18 bicycles=18*2=36=190-36=154/4 is not possible
16 bicycles=16*2=32=190-32=158/4 is not possible

- @CHINTAN MAKWANA- can u pls xplain y we are taking the total wheels to be 182 when its 190???

- lets b be no of bicycles and w be no ot wagons....
2b+4w=190
we have 2b=1w so..
2b+4*2b=190
10b=190
b=19
so no of bicycles are 19. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(8) No(1)
- we have to use options for calculating ans.

- 19 bicycles.

- answer option is = a 20 b 15 c 16 c17
now the ans is" b"
bcz whwn you divide 190 it mens is also divided by 2 and 4 but it is not there so take opt. b = 15*2 = 30 now 190-30 = 160 and 160 is divisible by 4
now i think you all understand the logic go with the logic ok all the best akash.chouhan99@gmail.com - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(2)
- Let us assume no. of bicycles to be x and wagons to be y.
Then, 2x + 4y = 190
also, x:y=2:4 (no. of wheels is directly proportional to number of bicycles)
then 2x=y.
solving these two, we get y=38 and x=19.
We can check the solutions as well. 19x2 + 38x4 =190 which is indeed true. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- Let there are B bicycles and W wagons.
Total number of wheels = 2 × B 4 × W
Given 58 wheels ⇒ 2B 4W = 58
⇒ B 2W = 29 …… (Eq.1)
Also given B W = 18 …… (Eq.2)
∴ Eq.1 – Eq.2
⇒ W = 11
⇒ B = 18 – W
⇒ B = 18 – 11 = 7 Bicycles. - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
