• i think question is wrong,because p=2,but in first product we get p=1 after multip, so either p=2 is wrong or p should not be there in first product,insted we can write r.

• as far as logic goes,
  
  hop*u=hop (So u must be 1 here)
  hop*d=ppep(here p*d results in p so it can be only 1,5,6 but 1 cannot be value so only 5,6)
  in addition of (p,h,e) carry over goes to p carry over can only be (1 or 2)i.e whatever the value of p is h is greater than that by 1 or 2
  now put the value of d as 6 then p can be (2,4,8) just put the value of p as 2 and h as 3 multiplication gets solved instantly
