Population of india in 2001 and 2011 as per sensus of the respective year was 102.86 crore and 121 crores respectively. calculate the estimated mid year population of india during 2015 both by Ap and GP method?

• consider a=102.86,l=121,n=11 for AP
  121=102.86+(11-1)*d
  or 18.14=10d
  or d=1.814
  so during 2015,population will be
  =102.86+(15-1)*1.814
  =128.256 crore
  solve similarly for GP

• i get g.p as 227.38
  a=102.86 ar^10=121 (ar^10/a)=121/102.86=1.763
  r^10=1.763
  r=(1.763)^0.1=1.058
  so a.r^14=102.86*(1.0583)^14=227.38
