A and B can do a work in 6 days.They both started the work and after three days A left the work.B finished the remaining work in 15 days.In how many days will A finish the work?

• A and B'S 1 DAY WORK i.e A+B =1/6
  WORK COMPLETED AFTER THREE DAYS=3*1/6=1/2
  REMAINING WORK 1/2 i.e 50 percentage completed by B in 15 days,so B can finish work in 30 days.. b's 1 day work 1/30
  a's 1 day work=1/6-1/30=4/30
  so a can finish work 30/4=7.5 days

  A & B's 3 day work=3*(1/6)=1/2, Remaining work=1/2
  As B completes the 1/2 work in 15 days,B complete whole work in 15/(1/2)=30 days
  If A's 1 day work=x, then (1/x)+(1/30)=1/6, x=15/2 or 7 1/2

• A&B cn do the wrk for 1day=1/6,here mentioned tht A left the wrk for 3 days.for 1 day the work is 1/6 whereas for 3 days's 1/2,lest of the wrk cn be cmpltd by b in 15days, so (15*1/2)=7.5 days

  B work in 3 days 10%
  so A work 40 % in 3 days so remaining work in 50% so 50*3/40 = 4 days

• a completes in 7.5 days
  if total work = 100
  then (a+b)*6=100 .. working together for 6 days
  similarly (a+b)*3=50 .. after 3 days of work .. then a leaves and b completes in 15 days
  therefore, 50/15 = 3.33 .. which is work rate of b
  and then puting 3.33 in above equation we get (a + 3.33)*3=100 .. this work rate of a is 13.33 by solving it
  finally ... 100/13.33 = 7.5
