• i'll give you all a short cut way to solve this.
  given that 14 red 20blue 18 red
  the answer will be out of three take largest and middle no and add them.
  that equals to 20+18 = 38
  then adding two it we get 40
  hence 40 will be the answer.
  this works .

• i take it that 14 red, 20 blue, 18 green gloves are there, ie 7,10 & 9 pairs
  and that left and right are distinct, but not distinguishable in the dark in a hurry
  
  P[red pair] = 14/52 * 7/13
  P[blue pair] = 20/52 * 10/19
  P[green pair] = 18/52 *9/17
  add up to get 0.5307
