• If there are total 100 students,
  20 failed in English out of which 10 failed in Maths also.
  30 failed in Maths out of which 10 failed in English also.
  Total students passed both subjects = 100-(10+10+20)= 60 students.
  If 144 students passed in both subject, total students = 144*100/60= 240 students/examiners
