Q. In an examination 80% of student passed in mathematics. 55% in English. 29% failed in both subject.the pass percent?

  so pass percentage 100-36 = 64%

  pass in math = 80
  English = 55
  fail in both = 29 than pass in both = 100-29 =71
  than total no pass students = 80+55-71 = 64%

• considered total percentage is 100
  so failed students in mathematics is 100-80=20
  failed students in English is 100-55=45
  total number of students failed is=20+45-29=36
  so pass percentage =100-36=64

  x=36

  student failed in both=29
  So total percentage of failed student in math or english=failed in math+failed english-failed in both=20+45-29=36
  thus pass % =100-36=64
