• i think 3rd question is little bit confusing because it has number of solutions
  3,12,29,?
  3*3^1 = 9+3 = 12
  3*3^2 = 27+2 = 29
  3*3^3 = 81+1 =82.............this is also satisfying

• compare with the set of numbers in the question with below pattern
  x, y, (x+y)^2 , (x-y)^2
  
  So, the first set of numbers we get are
  4, 2, (4+2)^2 = 36, (4-2)^2 = 4 .... do the same with rest of the numbers and you will get

  2) 5, 1, 36, 16
