Read Solution (Total 4)
-
- given, 1/3 = women, (1- 1/3=2/3)= men
1/3 = women
1/2 of women = married
so 1/3 *1/2 = 1/6 of whole office is married women
1/3 of married women have children
so 1/6 *1/3=1/18 of whole office is married women with children
2/3 = men
3/4 of men = married
so 2/3 *3/4=1/2 people in office are married men
2/3 of married men have children
so 1/2*2/3=2/6 = 1/3 of whole office is married men with children
1/18 + 1/3 = married with children in office = 7/18 of office
so (1- 7/18=11/18) of office doesn't have children.

- suppose there are total 36 workers.
12 women.. 6 women married.... 2 women have children.
24 men .... 18 men married.... 12 men have children
total 14 workers have children.
so 22/36=11/18 part of workers don't have children. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(8) No(0)
- Let total no. of workers be x
Number of women = x/3 and number of men = 2x/3Women married=1/2 * x/3 = x/6
Women having children = 1/3 *x/6 =x/18
Married Men =3/4 *2x/3 = x/2
Men having Children =2/3 * x/2 = x/3
Workers with children = x/3 + x/18 = 7x/18
Hence, workers without children = x- 7x/18 = 11x/18 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(2)
