Q. There are 5 persons a,b,c,d,e and each is wearing a block or white cap on his head. A person can see the caps of the remaining four but can't see his own cap. A person wearing white says true and who wears block says false.
i) a says i see 3 whites and 1 block.
ii) b says i see 4 blocks.
iii) e says i see 4 whites.
iv) c says i see 3 blocks and 1 white. Now find the caps weared by a,b,c,d and e

now if e is saying truth then a,b,c,d shoud be wearing white caps. so all of them should say truth but a,b and c are talking about black caps so this situation is contradicting. therefore e must be wearing black cap.
now a says 3 white and 1 black. if he is saying truth then b,c,d must be wearing white caps bcoz a/c to our earlier discussion e is wearing black cap. so a/c to a's statement a,b,c,d should b wearing white caps.so total 4 white cap and 1 black cap. now if b and c is wearing white cap then their statement should be true but a/c to b there are 4 black cap and a/c to c there are 3 black and 1 white cap. so the statements are contradicting. so a is lying so he is wearing black cap.
now b says he see 4 black cap. if it's true a,c,d,e must be wearing black cap. we already know that a and e are wearing black cap. so if b is saying truth then c and d must be wearing black caps. so c should lie but in this condition statement of c becomes true so it's contradicting. so b is lying hence he is wearing black cap.
till now we know a,b,e are wearing black cap. now c says 3 black and 1 white cap. there are already 3 black caps so if he is saying truth then d must be wearing white cap. and this condition does not contradict. so c and d both are wearing white caps.

- if u consider 'b' is right then 'c' should say wrong as he weared black cap...but he said 3b and 1w which is right since we considered 'b' is right(1w,4b)...so we come to a conclusion that 'b' is wrong , so the truth we come to know ::'b' is weared black and go on this way..

assume c is right so according to it (3 in black and 1 white)a,d,e is black and b is white..
