Q. What is the next number of the following sequence
3/2, 2 ¼, 2 ¼, 3 ½, 12 ¼, 12 ¼, 1 1/3, 1 7/9, 1 7/9, 2 2/3, ?

• divide the series into groups of three
  (3/2, 2 1/4, 2 1/4), (3 1/2, 12 1/4, 12 1/4), (1 1/3, 1 7/9, 1 7/9), 2 2/3
  now simplify the fractions
  so we will get,
  (3/2, 9/4 , 9/4).... (7/2, 49/4,49/4)...... (4/3, 16/9, 16/9)......(8/3,__,__)
  
  Clearly,series is like square of first number = second and third number
  so ans is 64/9
