Q. 12 person can complete the work in 18 day. After working 6 days 4 more person added to complete the work. In how many days they will complete the work?
Read Solution (Total 10)
-
- 9 days
12 men, 1 day work= 1/18, 1 man, 1 day work=1/(12*18)=1/216
12 men, 6 days work= 6/18=1/3, Remaining work=2/3
After 6 days,total men employed=12+4=16
16 men,1 day work=16/216=2/27
So days required for remaining work=(2/3)/(2/27)=9
so ans:9+6=15 days

- 12 men complete the work in 18 days.so we will take total work as 18 units.for 6 days 12 men worked so they completed 6 units of work and after 6 days 4men added that means we have 16men.
if 12 men worked the remaining work they will complete in 12 days
but 16 men are working sooo m1d1=m2d2
12*12=16*?
Ans=9 days - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
- initially given that 12 persons can complete the work in 18 days
so there are 12*18+=216works
12men will work for 6 days
so they will finish 12*6=72works
remaining works are 216-72=144works
to finish this 144 works 12+4=16 persons will be working
so 16 members will finish the work in 144/16=9days
so the total time taken to finish the work is 6+9=15days - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
- 12*18-12*6=16*d

- Days= M1(D1-D2)/M1+M2;
= 12(18-6)/12+4;
= 12(12)/16;
= 144/16;
=9 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- 12 men can do the work in 18 days
Total work = LCM(12,18) = 216 units
So if 12 men work for 6 days ...Work completed is : 12*6 = 72 units
Work left to do : 216-72 = 144 units
4 extra men brought to work = 12+4=16
144/16= 9 days - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- (12*18)person can complete the work in 1 day
1 person 1 daywork =1/18*12
12 person 6 day work= 1/12 *6= 1/2 remaining work(1-1/2) = 1/2
16 men 1 day work = 16/18*12 = 2/27
now 2/ 27 work is done by them in one day
therefore 1/2 work is done by (27/2 * 1/2) = 27 /4

- (12*18)person can complete the work in 1 day
1 person 1 daywork =1/216
12 person 6 day work= 1/18 *6= 1/3 remaining work(1-1/3) = 2/3
16 men 1 day work = 16/18*12 = 2/27
now 2/ 27 work is done by them in one day
therefore 1/2 work is done by (27/2 * 1/3) = 9 /2 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(4)
- 9 days
12*18-12*6=16*d will calculate the days required to complete the work. - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
