At Rs.9/- a sq.feet, how much would the carpet cost?

• Needed Carpet is 37.8
  Total material ordered = 37.8+(20% of 37.8)
  = 37.8 + ((20/100)37.8)
  = 37.8 + 7.6
  = 45.4 (Round off to 46)

  carpet cost per sq.feet = 9
  total cost = 9*46
  =414

• WE need 20% extra of what is required. so . total amount of carpet required = 37.8+(37.8*20/100)=37.8+7.56=45.36 sq.feet.
  BUT we are not allowed to order in fraction. So we ROUND OFF 45.35 sq. feet to 45 sq.feet.(nearest decimal value).
  hence, total amount to be paid = 45*9=405. ANSWER IS Rs. 405
