  4-6=-2
  6-3=+3
  3-4.5=-1.5
  4.5-1.5=+3
  1.5-2.25=-0.75
  2.25-(-0.75)=+3
  on observing the above difference of the given series we get +3,-2,+3,-1.5,+3,-0.75,+3......the +3 remains constant n -2,-1.5,-0.75,x
  -2+0.50=-1.5
  -1.5+(0.50+0.25)=-0.75
  -0.75+(0.50+0.25+0.25)=+0.25
  so x=0.25
