Ram and Shaym have a cube each. Ram paints 4 faces of cube Red and rest with blue colour. Ram asked Shyam to paint his cube with red and blue colour.They now started rolling it.After long observation Ram found that the probability of getting same colour in both the cube is 1/3. how many faces of his cube did Shyam painted red.
OPTIONS:
a>0, b>2, c>3, d>4
Read Solution (Total 6)
-
- ram-- 4 red, 2 blue
shyam-- x red, 6-x blue
probability of getting same color= ((4/6)* (x/6)) + ((2/6)*((6-x)/6))= 1/3
x=0
so, option a>0 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(53) No(1)
- Lets take shyam painted 1 face red. So the probablity of gettng same color is
4/6 * 1/6 + 2/6+ 5/6 = 14/36...thats greater than 1/3. so if 1 face is reded them also probablity is greater. so 1st option correct. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(3)
- 3
since probab of red is 2/3
then 2 get 1/3 probab
2/3*x=1/3
x=1/2
hence hyam painted 3 red 3 blue - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(5)
- As, ram painted 4 faces of cube red, so of second cube, he must paint 3 faces ,
to obtain the probability=1/3 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(3)
