If ZERO+POINT=ENERGY then E+N+E+R+G+Y?

Guys plz tell me the correct strategy to solve such problems?

  so obviously P=9 because 9+1=10 and here we get N=0, Z1RO+9OI0T=101RGY
  Z+O=1,Z=3,O=8,3+8=11,31R8+98I0T=101RGY,
  8+T=Y,8+4=12 carry=1,31R8+98I04=101RG2
  so its obvious R=6, 3168+98I04=1018G2
  its obvious I=5,3168+98504=101672
  so E+N+R+G+Y=1+0+1+6+7+2=17
