A grain merchant purchased 2 varieties of rice, the price of the first kind being twice that of the second. He sells the mixture for rs 28 per kg making a profit of 25%. If the ratio of the first to the second is 2:3 in the mixture, then the variety coated is?
Read Solution (Total 4)
-
- let p be the price of sec. quality of rice and 2p be the price of first one
selling price of mix. is 28 rs with 25% profit so its,c.p will be
125/100*c.p=28
and also given that 2/5*2p+3/5*p=c.p(calculated in above step)
and by that we get cost price are 16,32

- let the cost prices be p, 2p;
cost price of both mixtures is 112/5 ( c.p =s.p/(1+prof percentage/100) )
mixtures are in 2:3 ratio
2/5(p) + 3/5(2p) = 112/5
p= 14 ;
cost prices are 14, 28 ; - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(5)
