  f(x,y) = x2 + ay + y2 - 3x
  
  = 4 - a + 1 - 6
  
  = -a-1
  
  So the above value will be the minimum if u check for all other options also. therefore, the answer is (2,-1)

• for (1,1) we get= a-1
  (2,-1) we get= -a-1
  (-1,1) we get= a+3
  (2,2) we get= 2(a-1)
  For min value of the functn 'a' must be min or negative. Then the ans is (2,2). For verification put some negative value, place of 'a'.
