p alone would take 8 hours more to complete a job than than both p and q would toghter. if q worked alone, he took 9/2 hrs more than p and q would together. what time they take if and q do it together?

• let p & q complete in x hr
  then p take x+8 hr
  q take x+4.5 hr
  then (1/x+8)+(1/x+4.5)=1/x
  by solving this we get x=6
  so they took 6 hr to complete the work

• There is formulae for this type of q i.e
  [ T(p+q)]^2= T(p)×T(q). [T(p+q)]^2= 8×9/2=36. T(p+q)=+6 because hrs are in +ve
