- let the odd numbers be 2x-1,2x+1,2x+3,2x+5,2x+7,2x+9,2x+11,2x+13.
addition performed on them gives 16x+48.
so 16x+48=656,
16x=656-48=608
x=38,
so smallest odd number is 2(38)-1=75,
let the even numbers be 2x-2,2x,2x+2,2x+4
average of them ((8x+4)/4)=87,
x=43,
so second largest is 2(43)+2=88. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
