Ram can do a piece of work in 8 days which syam can finsih in 12 days.If they work at it on alternate days,with Ram begining,in how many days,the work will be finished?

2 day's work of Ram & Syam=(1/8)+(1/12)=5/24
So their 8 day's work=4*5/24=5/6
on 9th day again Ram will work,so work completed=(1/8)+(5/6)=23/24
Time taken by Syam to complete remaining 1/24 work=(1/24)/(1/12)=1/2 days

work done by syam on a day is 1/12
total work done by them can be 24/5 =4.8 days
both has to work alternatively 4.8x2=9.6 days

- Ram can do work in 8 days...so 1 day work=1/8,,,similarly for shyam=1/12..now ram will do 1/2 work in 4 days...n shyam will do 1/3 work in 4 days..so we got 8 days...and work left is 1-(1/2+1/3)=1/6...on 9th day ram will do 1/8th work..nw work left is 1/6-1/8=1/48..which shyam will do in 1/4 day on 10th day of work....so total number of days are 9.25 days...
