My friend is having a nice pearl set with 33 pearls in a string. The middle pearl is the largest and most expensive of all. Starting from one end, each pearl is worth Rs.100 more than the one before, up to the middle. From the other end, each pearl
is worth Rs. 150 more than the one before, up to the middle. The string
of pearls is worth Rs. 65,000. What is the value of the middle pearl?

• most expensive pearl = X
  also as value each next pearl (up to 16 pearls) is 100/150 Rs decreased....I have just totaled numbers from 1 to 16.....1+2+3+4+5+....+16=136
  
  so total value is
  
  X+(X*16 - 136*100) +(X*16 - 150*136)
  
  = X*33 - 34000
  
  and u say it is equal to 65K
  
  so X=3000
