The age of two friends is in the ratio 6:5.the sum of their ages is 66.after how many years will the ages be in the ratio 8:7?

let friends a,b in the ratio a:b=6:5 and a+b=66
so, let x be the factor for ratio, then 6x+5x=66 ==> x=6
so, the present ages of a,b are 36,30
let after 'y' yrs they are in the ratio of 8:7
so,(36+y):(30+y) = 8:7
