Joe's age, Joe's sister's age and Joe’s fathers age sums up to a century. When son is as old as his
father, Joe's sister will be twice as old as now. When Joe is as old as his father then his father is twice as
old as when his sister was as old as her father
Read Solution (Total 7)
-
- Joe+sister+father=100
after x years lets joe age is equal to hi father
joe+x=father
therefore, sister+x=2*sister
=>sister=x
joe+sister=father
therefore, 2*father=100
hence, Father=50 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(25) No(4)

- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(1)
- Joe= 20 Joe's sister = 30 Joe's father = 50
So now, we can add up the three members and can get the sum 100.
now the son is as old as his father , i.e Joe= 50 years
Joe's sister= 60 (twice as old)
case 2
joe = 50 ( as old as father)
sister = 50 (as old as father)
father= 100 (twice as old)
hence father is twice as old as when sister is as old as her father. it would be better if there were options.
