Ratio and Proportion
a container full of milk,E liter of milk is taken out from the container and is replaced it by water.
this process is repeated again so that the milk to water ratio became 14:16,then what is the size of container.
(properly not able to remind whether it was 14:16 or 16:14,but question was like this)
Read Solution (Total 4)
-
- let initially a container size =x liter
ratio of milk to water is given 14:16
let container is divided in 30 equal units
so, (14x/30)+(16x/30)=x
means milk=14x/30 & water=16x/30
according to qstn E=16x/30
so x=15E/8 Ans

- ans :- 15E/8

- instead of 16:14
it should be 16:9
let x be total size of container.
so new milk ratio be 16:25
and milk repeatedly replaced mean twice time i.e x(1-E/x)^2
and ratio of this will becomes
{x(1-E/x)^2}/x = 16:25
after solving this we get x=5E as answer
