There are two square rooms. Both are of same height. The second room is 5m
longer than the first room. The rate for papering the walls is 10 paisa per square
meter. The total cost for papering the rooms is Rs 60 and Rs 80. What is the
height of the rooms.

h is height of each room, then
area of each wall of smaller room = l*h = 6000/(10*4) =150 sq m
area of each wall of larger room = (l+5)*h = 8000/(10*4) =200 sq m

total area of walls for 1st room = 6000/10=600 sq m
total area of walls for 2nd room =8000/10=800 sq m
let length of 1st room be x m
and height of both room be y m.
so total area of 1st room=4xy
so,
4xy=600
=>xy=150 .........(1)
now for 2nd room
length of the room=(x+5)
so,total area of the room the room=4*(x+5)*y
so,
4(x+5)y=200
=> xy+5y=200 .................(2)
on solving (1) and (2) we get
y=10
height of the rooms is 10 m

=>4lh= 600
area of the larger room= 4*(l+5)*h =800
