3 mangoes and 4 apples costs Rs.85. 5 apples and 6 peaches costs 122. 6 mangoes and 2 peaches costs Rs.144. What is the combined price of 1 apple, 1 peach, and 1 mango.
a) 37
b) 39
c) 35
d) 36

- 3m+4a=85----1
5a+6p=122----2
6m+2p=114----3
multyplying eqn 3 with 3 we get
18m+6p=342----4
solving 2 and 3 we get
18m-5a=220----5
by 1 and 5
m=15,a=10,p=12.....1m+1a+1p=37 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(13) No(9)
- 3m+4a=85 ->1
5a+6p=122 ->2
6m+2p=144 ->3
by solving 1 & 2 we get in terms of m and p
15m-24p=-63 ->4
by solving 3 &4 we get
m=15,a=10,p=12

- 3M+4A=85/-
5A+6P=122/-
6M+2P=144/-
Total.... 9M+9A+8P=351/-
=> 9M+9A+9P=351+x (for 1 extra peach,extra x rupees)
=> 1M+1A=1P=(351+x)/9
To make (351+x) divisible by 9, x must be either (0/9/18/27/.....(since 351 -> 3+5+1=9)
consider any of the equation given:
3M=4A=85
then 4M+4A=85+x
then 1M+1A=(85+x)/4
appr.= 21 /-
that means 1M= 10/-
1A=10/-
from the series mentioned above(0/9/18/27/...), the no. nearer to '10' is '9'
so the value of 'x' is '9'
now 351+x=351+9=360
and hence
1M+1A+1P= (351=x)/9 = 360/9 = 40/-

- a
3m + 4a = 85 ..(1)
5a + 6p = 122 ..(2)
6m + 2p = 144 ..(3)
(1) x 2 => 6m + 8a = 170
4 x (3) => 6m + 2p = 144
Solving we get 8a - 2p = 56 ..(4)
(2) => 5a + 6p = 122
3 x (4) = 24a - 6p = 168
Solving we get a = 10, p = 12, m = 15
So a + p + m = 37 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(9)
