growth of smaller tree per year = x*3/5
Total growth in one year = x+3x/5 = 8x/5
Growth in 4 years = 32x/5 =8 ft
x= 40/32 = 5/4
growth of smaller tree in 2 years = 2*3x/5 =6x/5= (6/5)*(5/4) = 1.5 ft
