Manu working alone on a job takes 12 days more than what he would have taken if Bhanu had worked along with him while Bhanu working alone on the same job takes 27 days more than what he would have taken if Manu had worked along with him.   let manu and bhanu together take z days to do the work
  so one day work of manu and bhanu is 1/m+ 1/b = 1/z---eqn 1
  if manu would have worked alone then he would have taken z+12 days
  so one day work of manu alone : 1/m = 1/z+12------eqn 2
  similarly for bhanu : 1/b = 1/z+27------eqn 3
  now sub eqn 2 & eqn 3 in eqn 1 we get-
  1/z+12 + 1/z+27 = 1/z ---eqn 4
  solving eqn 4 we get z = 18

• This question will be solved by applying formula- sqr root of product of number of days taken by both person when they work alone.
  No. of days taken by manu to work alone-12days
  No. of days taken by bhanu to work alone-27 days
  so, on applying formula we get,
  sqr root of (12*27)=sqr root of 324
  =18
  Therefore,they will take 18 days to complete the work together .
